My name is William Thomas Berk, alias “Curiosity Inc,” and I am an aspiring movie nerd.
Offline, I am the only Bioinformatics major in Pacific University’s Class of ’09. I’m also taking bioscience technology courses at Portland Community College and playing bass drum for the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers on the side.
Online, I first cut my teeth as a “Stooge” for film producer Don Murphy at his forum before leaving the place to co-found my own forum at WatchmenComicMovie.Com. The latter forum has been home to over 2,000 registered users, trolls, spammers and lurkers since its inception in August of 2007, making it the largest Watchmen fan forum online. I still serve there as its moderator.
In recent months, I’ve been posting on the forum to share my thoughts about movies I’d recently seen. These reviews gradually increased in length, to the point where I needed my own space away from the forum to type them down. Fortunately, my friend David “AYBGerrardo” Smart was kind enough to accommodate me and help set up this blog (you can read his blog right here).
Note that I call myself an “aspiring” movie nerd, since I don’t consider myself quite movie-literate enough to be a full-fledged movie buff. There are still a lot of classics out there that I haven’t seen and more are waiting for me every day in theaters and even in my own living room. Fortunately, I’m a proud son of Portland, OR. I have access to multiplexes like the Lloyd Center, smaller Regal theaters like the Fox Tower and totally independent cinemas like the Hollywood Theater and Cinema 21. There’s also DVD discount bins, digital downloads, rental stores (while they last)… with all these options available, there’s never been a better time to be a movie lover.
I hope you’ll join me as I continue my hobby of watching movies, learning about them and honing my self-taught analysis skills. Read some reviews and share your thoughts. Hopefully, you’ll learn a thing or two as well.
Welcome. Make yourself at home and enjoy!

P.S. You may notice that the earlier reviews are dated before this blog came online. This is because they were copy/pasted here from the WCM.Com forum. I’ve adjusted the dates of the reviews here to when I wrote them there.
