I’m just going to start by leaving this embed here. It speaks for itself better than I ever could, I think:
What you just saw was a red-band trailer for a short film called Fight For Your Right Revisited that played at Sundance this year. The premise puts the Beastie Boys of the future against the Beastie Boys in their “Licensed to Ill” heyday. This whole thing was written and directed by Adam Yauch… who himself was a founding member of the actual Beastie Boys.
I’m not even a fan (they were just a bit before my time), but this premise and the talent behind it have me intrigued. I mean, did you see the trailer? I could direct you to the IMDB page or list off just a few of the comic actors in this pic, but I think it’s actually more fun to go through the trailer and see which ones you can spot.
So far, I think that Fight For Your Right Revisited could wear out its welcome pretty quickly as a feature film, but it looks to be hilarious and chaotic as a 30-minute short. I can’t seem to find a solid release date, but I’ll be sure to keep an eye out. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer!
it’s telling me that EMI has restricted embedding or something.
Works fine for me. Try looking it up on YouTube.
