Movie Curiosities

The online diary of an aspiring movie nerd

New Redesign!

Apr 5, 2012

This post marks nearly two years to the day since I started blogging. In light of this milestone, it seemed only right to change a few things around.

First and foremost is the new layout, which has several added features. Right at the top is a lovely new banner, very generously made by my friend Joseph Sheldahl. Another new addition is the clapboard that I recently took purchase of. I’ll be using it to present vital information about each film, in addition to the location and format in which I saw the film, all in a single “at-a-glance” picture.

Far more importantly, I’ll be trying some new things with social media. The new layout came bundled with social media buttons in the upper-right corner of every page, so it’s never been easier to share these posts on the social networks of your choice. What’s more, the blog now has its own dedicated Facebook and Twitter pages. Links to both can be found at the bottom of the right sidebar.

I’m still trying to tweak the colors of the new layout, so any advice there would be duly appreciated. If you’d like to keep current on this blog, then I urge you to start following my Facebook and Twitter pages. If you like what you see here, then spread the word as best you can. This is going to be a great year at the movies, and I’d love to continue being your guide through the multiplexes and the arthouses.

Stay tuned, my friends.

I hold a B.S. in Bioinformatics, the only one from Pacific University's Class of '09. I was the stage-hand-in-chief of my high school drama department and I'm a bass drummer for the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers. I dabble in video games and I'm still pretty good at DDR. My primary hobby is going online for upcoming movie news. I am a movie buff, a movie nerd, whatever you want to call it. Comic books are another hobby, but I'm not talking about Superman or Spider-Man or those books that number in the triple-digits. I'm talking about Watchmen, Preacher, Sandman, etc. Self-contained, dramatic, intellectual stories that couldn't be accomplished in any other medium. I'm a proud son of Oregon, born and raised here. I've been just about everywhere in North and Central America and I love it right here.
